Your night is yours.
Lore is a city mystery game that ends at a partner restaurant or bar. We built it to need as little of your information as possible. There's no account, no advertising and no tracking.

Who we are
Lore is run by its founders in London, United Kingdom. For anything about your data, email admin@lorecities.com. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What the app uses, and where it goes
| Information | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Your location | To check you've reached each place in the story, so the next chapter unlocks. | Stays on your phone. We never receive or store it. |
| Camera and photos | For the photo challenges, and the album at the end of the night. | Stays on your phone, unless you choose to share it yourself. |
| Names you type in (optional) | To personalise the story, for example "Sam and Alex". | Kept on your phone. If you reach a partner venue, the name goes with your reward code (see below). |
| Game progress, points and seals | To remember the stories you've finished. | Stays on your phone. |
| Reward codes | So staff at the partner venue can check and redeem your reward. | Stored on our database with the venue, city, story, the team name you entered and the time. It's hosted by Supabase in London. We delete codes after 12 months. |
| Group races | To show a live leaderboard to the other teams in your race. | Your team name and score are shared live with the phones in your race. They aren't stored afterwards. |
| Feedback | To improve the stories. | Feedback opens your own email app. We only receive what you choose to send. |
Companies that help us run Lore
- Supabase stores reward codes and partner venue accounts, in their London (UK) data centre.
- OpenStreetMap provides the map tiles. Their servers see your IP address when the map loads.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces. Google's servers see your IP address when they load.
- Cloudflare hosts lorecities.com.
- Google Maps, Uber and other ride apps only open if you tap "Directions" or "Book an Uber". They then handle your information under their own privacy policies.
We don't sell your information, we don't show adverts, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.
Partner venues
If you run a partner venue and sign up through the partner portal, we store your email address, venue details and the rewards you've redeemed, so you can manage your offer and see your results. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by emailing admin@lorecities.com.
Age
Lore isn't meant for children under 13. Some partner rewards are drinks, and those are only for over-18s. Venues check ID in the normal way.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you can ask to see, correct or delete any information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email admin@lorecities.com. If you include your reward code, we can find it straight away. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting everything. Deleting the app removes your progress, photos and names from your phone. To delete a reward code from our database, email us the code. There are no player accounts to close.
Changes
If we change how Lore uses information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If we start collecting anything new, we'll say so in the app first.
